Polytechnic of Milan
Polytechnic of Milan (POLIMI), founded in 1863, is one the most important technical-scientific universities in Italy. It forms engineers and architects. In academic year 2004-2005, about 40000 students and 1230 full, associate and assistant professors were enrolled. In 2003, POLIMI accounted for about 17% of the number of engineers graduated in Italy.
The Dept. of Electronics and Information (DEI) enrols about 170 full, associate and assistant professors and is organised in the Computer Science, Electronics, Automatic and Telecommunications Sections. DEI plays a primary role in international research, as demonstrated by the number of papers published yearly, in particular on IEEE and ACM journals and conference proceedings.
